Just a Hapa asked:
My Dad is getting married, and wanted to say something out of the bible to his wife. Any good ones would be appreciated.

I would ask a priest of a nun that question. If you go to the library I am sure you could find a book on the topic.

I always suggest 1 Corinthians 13. This passage is from the NIV.
Love
If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

All of you must be willing to completely obey those who rule over you. There are no authorities except the ones God has chosen.Those who now rule have been c hosen by God. So when you oppose the authorities,you are opposing those whom God has appointed…If you do what is right, you wont need to be afraid of your rulers. But watch out if you do what is wrong! You dont want to be afraid of those in authority over you? Then do what is right.The one in authority will praise you.Romans 13:1-3

Everyone seems to go straight to I Cor. 13 since it is called the love chapter but these are the ones I love best:
I think Ruth 1:16-17 is beautiful:
“Please do not tell me to leave you and return home!
I will go where you go, I will live where you live;
your people will be my people,
your God will be my God.
I will die where you die and be buried beside you.
My the Lord Punish me is we are ever separated even by death.
Then of course the Song of Songs 8: 6b, 7
The passion of love
bursting into flame
is more powerful than death,
stronger than the grave.
Love cannot be drowned
by oceans or floods;
it cannot be bought,
no matter what is offered.
Tell Dad congratulation!
