connerjd, It seems the people who believe in hell are too anxious to send everyone who doesn’t believe in it - there. LOL
connerjd on January 23, 2009 at 12:03 pm
People who believe in hell deserve to go there.

connerjd, you don’t have to accommodate any Christian crap. They think we do. Just tell them to go to hell, since they believe in it. I only ascribe that when you deal with a jerk. I am not worried about what they think. I am just trying to MAKE THEM THINK. Now that will take a miracle!

sammy3316, take your bullshit somewhere else and stick your magic and voodoo belief system up your ass.

connerjd, I don’t see religion will go away any time soon either. Too many people need superstition in their lives to feel some kind of control of that which they don’t understand. There is nothing to understand. Life is just life.

No because I am not pretending to be someting that I am not. I am being straight up honest about the parts that I like and don’t like. I am being honest that I don’t believe it is the word of God, and isn’t completely accurate.

No offense but would that not make you a hyprocrite if the pastors are picking parts they want people to hear then you are no better to find verses that you like and use them. John 5:39-43.

Deut 32/42 refers to the battle of Armageddon described in Ezekiel Chapters 38-39.
Psalms 38/7 Loathsome Disease should have been translated ” a burning fever” Hebrew Translation. As he hung on the Cross a burning fever wracked his body.
Acts 1/18 Refers to the Pharisees taking the blood money from Judas, and buying his burying place Mat27:6-8 later committing suicide Mat27 3-8…I can go on but the problem is you don’t understand what you are reading and your getting confused.

I doubt that it will change. Some people talk about religion coming to an end. I do not see this happening because it has a powerful affect on people. If religion does end, I don’t see it happening in my lifetime.

connerjd, I think this is why Ingersoll touched my heart so deeply when I read his works. He speaks of that very thing so eloquently and even to this day not much has changed. I wonder if it ever will?

Yes, they always bend the rules for God and religion. The majority of people in the congregations have not actually done their own research. They have been brainwashed. I have seen internet sites where they try to justify the contradictions. God can do what hewants doesn’t sound like a good thing. Those pastors don’t have anything else in life.
Rhonda9 on February 10, 2009 at 12:35 am
Connerjd, they would be out of a job if people started thinking for themselves. Yes the preachers cherry-pick and so do the people in the congregation. Many people, once indoctrinated can’t bear to hear conflicting passages and tend to try and justify them somehow by saying, “God can do what he wants.”
In real life they wouldn’t tolerate some of those things and be abhorred by it.

These pastors and preachers cherry-pick the parts of the bible that they want their congregations to hear. Certainly, these pastors know that these verses are in the bible. The church is all about a profit and control over others.

Pastors and preachers cherry-pick the parts that they want their congregations to hear. Surely these pastors know that some of these verses are in the bible. The churches are all about making a profit and controlling others.

connerjd, I agree with you totally. This source of their inspiration contains many odd things that people will never hear in church from their pastors and preachers.

This is the best selling book of all time. This in my opinion is because people have not actually read it for themselves. I know christians who condemn Harry Potter, how blind they are! The best way to defeat a christian in a debate is to use their own bible.
